"This is a call to all heroes!  Come forth and join forces on a grand adventure. "

Whether they are capturing the bad guys, visiting far off galaxies, flying through the sky or simply rescuing a kitten in a tree, superhero play empowers children and lets them contemplate and problem solve in a vast array of social learning.  This class takes the ideas that each child has of what a superhero means and expands it into an entire creation of their own.  It will involve story telling and writing, costume design, Lego construction, science experiments about superpowers and examining their thoughts of what "good" and "bad" really mean.  It will all culminate in their very own comic book that will incorporate the entirety of their work from the class. Come along with us as we begin our very own hero's journey.

Half Pint Heroes is taught by Chris Aguilar who has been  working in education for over 15 years and
has been teaching with MLV since we began in 2003.  Chris has always had a great love of comics and superheroes and has been an avid artist and writer for most of his life.  As a creative writing major in college, story telling has always been a passion for Chris and its been his privilege to pass this love to all of his students in the school.  This class is the ideal way to inspire the story teller inside all the kids and let their imaginations shine through.
